Here I am decending down into the Toutle river valley along the Hummocks Trail. The trail decends from the highway near the Coldwater Ridge visitor center down to the Tutle river. It is about 2.5 miles long and is a moderate hike. You can see the clouds decending into the valley in the background. By the end of the day the clouds had become fog. It must be some sight on a clear day.
Hummocks are those big piles of dirt around me in the picture. They are debris piles from the massive avalanche that occured during the eruption of Mt. St. Helens.
