NFS for the Macintosh

I am no longer developing MacNFSd, however the source is avaliable.

The current release of nfsd is 1.5.0b970726. It is avaliable from www.smellycat.com.

The Mailing List

'mac-nfsd' is the name of a mailing list for nfsd for the Macintosh. Subscription requests should be sent to "majordomo@smellycat.com" with a body of 1 line containing "subscribe mac-nfsd <your-email-address>" and nothing else. (Do not include the <>s around your email address.)

Known Problems

Conflicts with CPU doubler on 68k machines

This is from Tho Dinh, formerly at NetManage Technical Support:
You can have MacNFS defer loading of some components (including the portmapper) until a mount is requested by enabling the " Configure for PPP " option in the Setup dialog. If another portmapper is loaded before an NFS mount is requested, MacNFS will not load its portmapper. Just to be safe, you might also want to force MacNFS to load last during startup by renaming it.
